Kirsten Swensen is an Amsterdam based digital media artist whose process often begins with a question or feeling, transformed into dynamic video art, immersive installations, or detailed generative compositions. She works with code, data, and field recordings—using them both as input and inspiration for her generative studies. Using generative algorithms she creates shifting digital systems and surfaces that mirror the complexities of the natural world and its underlying systems. Drawing inspiration from her experiences with Vipassana meditation, she seeks to translate those contemplative qualities into her digital work where math, art and nature are very much intertwined.

Her work has been performed and exhibited in institutions worldwide including Nxt Museum, Rosewood Amsterdam, Van Abbemuseum, MMMAD Festival, Sedition Art, Blinc Festival, Adelaide Festival, Glow, Dutch Design Week, STRP Biennale, DEMO Festival and more.
